News out of Blue Jays Spring Training...Vernon Wells has injured his hamstring.

Wells will miss most of the spring training with a similar hamstring injury to the one he had last year.

Sources indicate that while Wells was doing a routine run around the bases he strained his left hamstring.

Last season, Wells spent time on the disabled list for an injury to the same hamstring last July.

He also suffered a fractured wrist in May, and missed 52 games overall between the two injuries.

In 2008, he hit .300 with 20 home runs and 78 RBIs.

The 30-year old is entering the second season of a seven-year, $126 million dollar contract extension.

Jays manager Cito Gaston stated that he believes that Wells may have hurt himself running the bases.
