Marty York- Tavares Lead

London fans hoped and prayed and their knight in shinning armour arrived just in time from Oshawa. John Tavares made his triumphant debut for the Knights in a 7-3 thumping of the St. Micheals Majors.

Tavares had two goals and an assist in his first game. Coach Dale Hunter played match maker throughout the game, switching up the lines looking for the best chemistry. "We tried him with everyone; we'll see who works best with him," Hunter said.

Tavares showed why he is a consensus number one pick in the up coming NHL draft, not just by putting up three points offensively, but he was also 16 for 20 in the faceoff circle and saw time on the penalty kill, logging nearly 20 minutes by the end of the game.

Jared Knight, Tucker Hunter, Vladimir Roth and Matt Clarke also scored for the Knights, who get a few days rest before their next game Thursday when they host the Rangers.

Marty's Points-

don't use -see- when describing the game. the game saw the lead switch hands...
